#588 - Children's Cancer and Pesticides

چکیده

Cancers diagnosed in children younger than 15 are increasing at about one percent per year in the U.S.[1] Cancers are now the second leading cause of death among children (after accidents). An estimated 7800 children in the U.S. were diagnosed with new cancers in 1995.[2] Part of this increase results from better diagnosis and better recording of cases by state and federal agencies, but "taken together they cannot explain the magnitude of the increases that have been observed over the last several decades."[1] In other words, childhood cancer really is increasing.
